Its investigation found that three adults \u2013 Pomeroy, her husband Kyle Linden Webster and a friend \u2014 became entangled while on tubes and a paddleboard that were connected.\n\n\n\n</p><p>Tragic details in their report go on to say that Naomi was pulled underwater after the group encountered an \u201cexposed snag in the water\u201d and was thereafter unable to free herself due to the \u201cpaddleboard leash\u201d.\n\n\n\n</p><p>According to&nbsp;<a href="%5C%22https:%5C/%5C/www.today.com%5C/food%5C/news%5C/portland-chef-naomi-pomeroy-dies-rcna162199%5C%22" target='\"_blank\"' rel='\"noreferrer' noopener>sources, Corvallis Fire Department members were able to recover Webster and the friend at the shore, but Pomeroy\u2019s body was not immediately located.\n\n\n\n<p>A search was initiated, with the sheriff\u2019s office offering an update on July 17 to say that Pomeroy\u2019s body had been found on the Willamette River about a half mile upstream of Hyak Park between the towns of Corvallis and Albany.\n\n\n\n<figure class='\"wp-block-image\"'><img decoding='\"async\"' src="%5C%22https:%5C/%5C/cdn-main.newsner.com%5C/wp-content%5C/uploads%5C/sites%5C/11%5C/2024%5C/07%5C/19082852%5C/GettyImages-481643609-scaled.jpg%5C%22" alt='\"\"' class='\"wp-image-152715\"\/'><figcaption class='\"wp-element-caption\"'>LOS ANGELES, CA \u2013 MARCH 22: Chef\/Owner of Beast and Expatriate Naomi Pomeroy attends the All-Star Chef Classic at LA Live on March 22, 2014 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Imeh Akpanudosen\/Getty Images)\n\n\n\n<p>The office detailed how people canoeing the river had spotted a body which later turned out to be Naomi\u2019s.\n\n\n\n</p><p>The 49-year-old was a self-trained chef who became popular within her industry after opening the acclaimed Portland restaurant beast in 2007.\n\n\n\n</p><p>Pomeroy appeared on&nbsp;<em>Iron Chef&nbsp;as well as&nbsp;<em>Top Chef Masters, while she also served as guest judge on&nbsp;<em>Top Chef&nbsp;in seasons 10, 15, and 18.\n\n\n\n<p>The show and its network, Bravo, made a statement following Pomeroy\u2019s death,&nbsp;<a href="%5C%22https:%5C/%5C/x.com%5C/BravoTopChef%5C/status%5C/1813195663863169273%5C%22" target='\"_blank\"' rel='\"noreferrer' noopener>writing&nbsp;on X:\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThe Bravo and Top Chef family send our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Chef Naomi Pomeroy.
