Mavis has been identified as having dementia, and her health is deteriorating quickly.\n\n\n\n

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge declared that Leno\u2019s conservatorship over his wife\u2019s inheritance was \u201cnecessary and appropriate\u201d in April 2024.\n\n\n\n

Entertainment Tonight was able to get court documents that stated that \u201cfor several years, Mavis has been gradually losing capacity and orientation to space and time.\u201d\n\n\n\n

According to the lawsuit, Mavis\u2019s \u201ccurrent condition renders her incapable of executing the estate plan,\u201d while Jay is \u201cfully capable of continuing to support for Mavis\u2019 physical and financial needs, as he has throughout their marriage.\u201d\n\n\n\n

A declaration from her neurologist, Dr. Cohen, is included in the documents. It reads, in part, that \u201c[Mavis] does not always know her date of birth or her husband, Jay.\u201d\n\n\n\n

Cohen, Mavis\u2019 attending doctor at Cedars Sinai, adds that Leno \u201cloves his wife very much\u201d and \u201ctreats [Mavis] like gold.\u201d\n\n\n\n

\u2018No one lives forever\u2019
Only months later, In Touch says that Leno is already preparing for his own death, making end-of-life arrangements so his fortunes are transferred to the correct beneficiaries.\n\n\n\n

The complaint reads: \u201cNo one lives forever, and the actions taken by Mr. Leno are reasonable and necessary for his and Mavis\u2019 protection. Mavis does not object to the petition and in my opinion consents to it. Mr. Leno is her protector, and she trusts him. This estate planning is in her best interest and protects her interests.\u201d\n\n\n\n

Leno\u2019s latest filing contains provisions for Mavis\u2019 care and says that the pair intends to stay in their home \u201cfor as long as reasonably possible,\u201d utilizing their money for \u201cassistance from household employees or caregivers as may be necessary.\u201d\n\n\n\n

If Leno dies first, \u201cthe estate will divide into the Leno Marital Trust\u2026it will have the Leno Collection and any real property housing Leno Collection. It will be irreversible, and the survivor receives all income, plus principle for appropriate support. After the survivor\u2019s death, after-tax balance will be given, together with the Leno Trust to JDM.\u201d\n\n\n\n

The Leno Collection is Leno\u2019s collection of automobiles and motorcycles, that\u2019s valued at more than $52 million, and any real property.\n\n\n\n

Leno also gave the JDM Foundation, a nonprofit he founded in 1988, instructions to establish a museum showcasing his car collection, and he has already appointed the first three directors.\n\n\n\n

Leno is also leaving $7 million to his nephew Richard Leno and Mavis\u2019s brother Rikki Nicholson, who lives next door.\n\n\n\n

Leno\u2019s trust revisions are expected to be accepted, according to the official assigned by the court.\n\n\n\n
