He turned 76 on Friday.\n\n\n\n</p><p>According to an email from Richard Simmons\u2019 publicist Tom Estey to&nbsp;<em>The Associated Press, the fitness guru passed away at his Los Angeles home. \u201cWe lost an Angel today \u2013 a true Angel,\u201d Estey said.\n\n\n\n<figure class='\"wp-block-image\"'><img decoding='\"async\"' src="%5C%22https:%5C/%5C/magicalworldss.com%5C/wp-content%5C/uploads%5C/2024%5C/07%5C/image-170.png%5C%22" alt='\"\"' class='\"wp-image-6125\"\/'>\n\n\n\n<p>A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that officers responded to a 911 call from Richard Simmons\u2019 home on Belfast Drive and arrived at 9:57 a.m. on Saturday.\n\n\n\n</p><p>\u201cUpon arrival, one rescue ambulance discovered a 76-year-old male who was pronounced deceased on-scene by firefighter\/paramedics due to apparent natural causes.\n\n\n\n</p><p>\u201cAs a result, no hospital transport was necessary,\u201d &nbsp;LAFD Captain Erik Scott said.\n\n\n\n</p><h2 class='\"wp-block-heading\"' id='\"h-just-two-days-before-his-passing-richard-contemplated-his-aspirations-for-his-legacy\"'>Just two days before his passing, Richard contemplated his aspirations for his legacy.\n\n\n\n</h2><p>\u201cI never thought of myself as a celebrity. People don\u2019t know this \u2013 I\u2019m really a shy person and a little bit of an introvert,\u201d he told&nbsp;<em>People.\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBut when that curtain goes up that\u2019s a different story. I\u2019m there to make people happy.\n\n\n\n</p><p>\u201cBut the accolades I get from emails. I mean, today most probably, we\u2019ll answer over 100 emails.\n\n\n\n</p><p>\u201cAnd they\u2019ll say, \u2018I\u2019m your No1 fan\u2019, and I just write back, and I say, you know, \u2018Don\u2019t say that because I\u2019m a human being just like you. And I know that you do good things, too.\u2019\u201d\n\n\n\n<figure class='\"wp-block-image\"'><img decoding='\"async\"' src="%5C%22https:%5C/%5C/magicalworldss.com%5C/wp-content%5C/uploads%5C/2024%5C/07%5C/image-171.png%5C%22" alt='\"\"' class='\"wp-image-6126\"\/'>\n\n\n\n<h2 class='\"wp-block-heading\"' id='\"h-simmons-brother-lenny-simmons-confirmed-the-death-in-a-statement\"'>Simmons\u2019 brother, Lenny Simmons, confirmed the death in a statement.\n\n\n\n</h2><p>\u201cI don\u2019t want people to be sad about my brother,\u201d Lenny Simmons said. \u201cI want them to remember him for the genuine joy and love he brought to people\u2019s lives.\u201d\n\n\n\n</p><p>\u201cWe are in shock,\u201d Lenny added. \u201cPlease respect the family at this difficult time.\u201dTom Estey, Simmons\u2019 longtime publicist, said in a statement, \u201cToday the World lost an Angel.\u201d\n\n\n\n</p><p>A day before his sudden passing,&nbsp;Simmons&nbsp;celebrated his 76th birthday and took to the social media to thank everyone for the birthday wishes.\n\n\n\n</p><p>\u201cThank you\u2026I never got so many messages about my birthday in my life!\u201d Simmons wrote. \u201cI am sitting here writing emails.
