A tense scene unfolded in Minneapolis after federal immigration agents attempted to make an arrest in a neighborhood still covered in snow. What began as a small traffic stop-style encounter quickly drew attention from residents who stepped outside to record. Within moments, a crowd had formed around the agents as they worked to detain an individual.
Video from the scene shows people shouting questions, demanding to know what was happening, and filming from multiple angles. Some bystanders began tossing handfuls of snow in the direction of the agents and their vehicles. Others moved closer and attempted to block a path, creating a tight ring around the officers.
Federal personnel tried to maintain distance and repeatedly asked the crowd to step back. The individual being detained appeared upset and verbal, drawing even more attention from people nearby. Dozens of phones were lifted into the air as residents tried to capture the exchange on video.
As additional officers arrived, the crowd’s reactions intensified. People shouted over one another, urging the agents to leave, while others insisted they show documentation. The increased volume and physical proximity made it difficult for agents to move freely on the icy street.
