Birds of a Feather actress Linda Robson shared a heartbreaking update on her best friend Pauline Quirke after discovering that she had dementia.
Steve, Pauline’s husband, said last month that the actress would be taking a hiatus from her work. She was diagnosed with the degenerative brain disease in 2021.

Pauline Quirke and Linda Robson on FaceTime
The 66-year-old actress from Loose Women claims that Pauline’s health has deteriorated.
In an interview with The Express at the TV Choice Awards yesterday evening (February 10), Linda said, “I’ve been aware of Pauline’s diagnosis for three years, and it has been difficult.” She is getting great care, and I kept in close contact with her husband, Steve.
She won’t recognize me despite our 56-year friendship since she can’t recall her grandchildren.
She doesn’t say much, but we FaceTime a lot. She said, “We keep in touch, and I’ll be going to see her next week.” While the support for her is commendable, talking about it can be upsetting.
Linda also mentioned that she has trouble recognizing her closest family members and worries that her best friend won’t know her when she comes to visit.
Despite our 56-year friendship, the actress said, “I’ve noticed a real difference with her; she won’t remember who I am because she doesn’t remember her grandchildren.” It’s pretty gloomy.

Pauline’s family is taking care of her.
Steve announced Pauline’s health and said his wife wants to spend more time with her family.
We kindly request your privacy and understanding during Pauline’s and our family’s difficult period. “Pauline just wants to spend time with her family, children, and grandchildren,” he said at the time. The actress has gotten support from friends and family since her sickness was made public.
The co-author of Birds of Feather with Laurence Marks, Maurice Gran, shared his concerns about Linda and said that she is struggling to identify her family.
“Since the diagnosis, her condition has accelerated,” he said. Given that she is still just 65, your heart aches for her. She initially believed she was losing her grip. It is now evident that she has trouble identifying her own relatives.
Charlie is the son of Pauline and Steve, who were married in 1996. She also owns Emily, her child from a previous relationship.
