Harrison Ford made headlines once again for his real-life heroism after being photographed assisting a woman who crashed her car off California State Route 126. The 75-year-old actor was driving behind the gray sedan when it suddenly veered off the highway and rolled into an embankment, according to TMZ. Ford and several other drivers immediately pulled over, rushing to help the woman until first responders arrived. Photos quickly surfaced online showing the “Indiana Jones” star speaking with authorities and offering support at the crash site.
Santa Paula Police Senior Officer Matt Alonzo confirmed the vehicle had rolled over and struck a tree, but the driver suffered only minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. Alonzo added that Ford, who was with a friend at the time, reacted within seconds of hearing the impact. He emphasized that Ford acted “as a good Samaritan,” helping pull the woman from the vehicle along with other bystanders before emergency crews reached the scene. The woman was the sole occupant of the car, and the California Highway Patrol has launched an investigation into the incident.
Ford had reportedly been leaving a small airport near Santa Paula, commonly frequented by hobby pilots. His love for aviation is well known, though it has led to several high-profile incidents over the years. In one case, Ford flew directly over an American Airlines Boeing 737 carrying 116 passengers before mistakenly landing his Aviat Husky on a taxiway at John Wayne Airport. He later explained to FAA officials that he was distracted by nearby jets at the time.
In 2015, Ford was injured after crash-landing a vintage World War II-era aircraft on a golf course in Venice, California. This latest act of quick thinking adds to a growing list of moments where the “Star Wars” actor has stepped in during emergencies, including directing traffic in New York City after a separate roadway accident.
