CHICAGO — A video circulating online shows a tense confrontation between Chicago residents and an ICE agent who refused to remove his mask or show identification, allegedly citing COVID concerns.
According to witnesses, the agent then threatened to arrest a U.S. citizen driving a vehicle and pointed his gun toward neighbors who began filming the encounter. The incident reportedly violated Chicago Mayor’s executive order prohibiting federal agents from concealing their identities during operations in the city.
The woman who filmed the event, known online as “morgiemartini,” wrote that she and others followed the agents for nearly twenty minutes until they were cornered in an alley and threatened with arrest before other residents intervened.
Local officials have not yet commented on the footage, which is now being widely shared across social media, reigniting questions about federal oversight and accountability.
